As an IT Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical assistance to our employees, ensuring that their hardware and software needs are met efficiently. You will play a critical role in maintaining a seamless and secure IT environment by handling new user onboarding/offboarding, system provisioning, hardware inventory management, security enforcement, general hardware diagnostics, AV support, and addressing general user assistance requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New User Onboarding/Offboarding:
    • Coordinate and facilitate the setup of new user accounts and profiles.
    • Assist in providing training and orientation for new employees on IT systems and policies.
    • Ensure the secure removal of access and data for departing employees.
  • System Provisioning:
    • Configure, install, and deploy computer systems and software applications.
    • Ensure that all systems are up-to-date with the latest software and security patches.
    • Maintain a standard image for system deployment.
  • Hardware Inventory:
    • Keep track of hardware assets, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
    • Perform periodic hardware inventory audits.
    • Assist in ordering and tracking IT equipment and accessories.
  • Security Enforcement:
    • Enforce and promote IT security policies and best practices.
    • Monitor and respond to security incidents and threats as they arise.
    • Collaborate with the IT team to implement security measures and updates.
  • General Hardware Diagnostics:
    • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues for end-users.
    • Provide first-level support for printer, scanner, and other peripheral devices.
    • Collaborate with IT specialists for more complex hardware problems.
  • AV and Office Technical Assistance:
    • Set up and maintain audio-visual equipment for meetings and presentations.
    • Address technical issues related to AV equipment promptly.
    • Provide technical support for office equipment, such as copiers and fax machines.
  • General User Assistance:
    • Address user inquiries and technical issues via phone, email, or in person.
    • Provide remote support and guidance to employees for common software and hardware problems.
    • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate IT team members and follow up to ensure resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a technical support role or a related field.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS) and software applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL) are a plus.
