Fund Chief Financial Officer
This finance executive will drive all aspects of fund and management company‐related accounting and reporting duties. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team, be an impact player and have high visibility with the team.
• Oversee all aspects of fund accounting including NAV calculations, financial statement preparation and the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes. • Partner with top-firm leadership on strategic financial matters & compliance. • Manage the relationship and productivity of the firm's external Administrator. • Drive strategic processes improvement initiatives & systems implementations. • Manage the fund’s limited partnerships; prepare financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis, which includes updating investment schedules, partner equity allocations and analyzing complex investment transactions. • Track various portfolio and partnership performance metrics. • Assist in the determination of portfolio company valuations. • Monitor cash balances and capital requirements of the partnerships and oversee/manage capital calls/distributions. • Will serve as Chief Compliance Officer leading all activities related to annual audits and act as primary liaison with outside auditors. • Assist with tax return preparation and review, fundraising and LP meeting activities. • Distribute financials, K‐1s, capital call and distribution notices to limited partners. • Maintain the internal LP contact database. • Respond to requests from audit firms/investors. • Monthly reconciliation of all cash accounts. • Quarterly reconciliation of SPAs/cap tables/stock certificates/other financing documents • Assist with the accounting for the management company. • Perform special projects as requested.
Requirements
• 6-8+ years of fund CFO-accounting experience. • Previous experience within the Big 4 is highly preferred. • Ability to drive firmwide strategic initiatives. • CPA or similar international qualification preferred. • Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP accounting principles • Prior fund compliance experience required. Proven compliance training / practices & playbook. • Education: BA/BS degree in accounting or related field required. • Venture Capital/Private Equity experience preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. • Strong aptitude for numbers and accuracy. • Ability to prioritize and multi-task. • Ability to work independently. • Excellent written and oral communication skills
The role is based in the Greater Los Angeles area but open to slower transition / move from another location over time.
